Julie is a member of the firm’s insurance coverage and labor and employment practice groups. In her insurance practice, Julie advises insurers with respect to issues involving a wide array of policies, including directors’ and officers’, employment practices, commercial general, professional and workers’ compensation liability policies. Julie has also successfully litigated complex coverage cases throughout the United States. In terms of her labor and employment law practice, Julie represents management in the full range of employment-related issues, including affirmative action, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, contractual and traditional labor claims. Julie regularly counsels employers on compliance with applicable laws and also represents them in litigation before state and federal agencies and courts. She also has extensive experience in civil appeals involving a variety of substantive issues and has argued before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Third and Seventh Circuits, the Illinois Supreme Court and various districts of the Illinois Appellate Court.
Julie graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law. She is a member of the firm’s Diversity Committee and also serves as a member of the inaugural Board of Directors of the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law Firms. Julie has taught as an adjunct professor for the Chicago-Kent College of Law and is a frequent writer and speaker on insurance and employment law issues.
